Fireside Chats with Calgary’s Mayoral Candidates

Date not listed

As part of its commitment to youth civic engagement, the Youth Policy Council hosted a fireside chat series with Calgary’s top five mayoral candidates. The goal of the series was to give each leading candidate equal exposure and provide young people with a direct opportunity to hear their perspectives on youth-specific policies and priorities.

Rather than focusing only on headlines or campaign messaging, these conversations allowed candidates to speak more deeply about how they viewed the role of youth in Calgary’s future, what issues they believed mattered most to younger residents, and how their leadership would respond to the concerns of the next generation. Through this series, YPC helped create a more informed youth electorate while encouraging more meaningful dialogue between young people and those seeking public office.
